Dane County CASA Teen Program

Dane County CASA Teen Program

The goal of Fostering Futures is to provide CASA youth who are aged 13+ with the tools necessary to assist them in successfully transitioning to independence and realizing their full potential.

Our advocates will receive specialized training focused on enabling educational success, preparing youth for adulthood, increasing access to living-wage employment, and promoting health—including identifying resources that can assist older youth, improve self-advocacy, developing healthy relationships, and establishing goals.  This training, entitled "Fostering Futures" supported by the National CASA network, also includes coaching on how to support teens as they face the unique challenges that system involvement as a family may bring. The program combines advocacy with individualized support.

Volunteer advocates interested in supporting teens must complete the CASA pre-service training, as well as complete the Fostering Futures training. Inquire for more information about becoming a CASA by contacting Jim at volunteercoordinator@canopycenter.org
