CASA of Dane & Columbia Counties

CASA provides volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates ("CASAs") to children who have experienced abuse or neglect and are under the protection or authority of the courts. CASA is a unique program in that it is directly assigned by the courts to work with some of our community's most vulnerable children. Each year, CASA infuses thousands of hours of volunteer work by its highly trained CASA volunteers into the juvenile court system, and into the lives of the special children we serve.

The mission of CASA is to be an independent voice for children who are under the legal protection of the courts due to abuse or neglect. We do this by training, supporting, and supervising community based volunteers who advocate for these children in the community and in the courts with the goal of establishing them in safe, permanent homes as soon as possible.

Achieving this mission requires that we maintain good working relationships between Courts and Human Services.
