Overview

Parent to Child is Canopy Center’s supervised visitation program. Supervised visitation is used to keep children safe and support the parent-child relationship. Supervised visitation can be court-ordered to allow a noncustodial parent to spend time with their child under the supervision of another adult; or elective.

Parent to Child supervises visits at our office in Madison, in the community, in our clients’ homes and virtually - based on each families’ situation. We offer visits during the day, as well as on evenings and weekends.

Monday-Sunday: 9a.m.-8p.m.

We are able to accommodate families in sensitive situations (including those with a history of or concern for domestic abuse, and with restraining or no-contact orders); safety procedures are set up with each family - in line with the court order and with consideration for all parties involved. 

Parent to Child is a safe place for families.

Canopy Center offers spaces for families of varying sizes and with different age children to spend time together - these spaces were designed to feel like home, with comfortable furniture and  age appropriate toys and activities. We also have a full kitchen, art room and green space that families are welcome to use. 

Fee Schedule

There is a one-time $70 non-refundable intake fee and a per-hour visitation fee of $70. If there is a no contact order in place, there is also a per visit fee of $35. 

Additionally, Parent to Child Staff or Family Interaction Specialists (visit supervisors) may appear in court for a fee of: $150, in person or $50 per hour ($50 minimum) for phone-in or virtual court appearances. 

We accept cash, money orders or debit/credit cards only. Payment must be made prior to services being rendered. 

Parent to Child provides services at no-cost to families referred by the Dane County Department of Human Services (DCDHS). DCDHS has contracted with Parent to Child to provide supervised visitation since 2015. 

Canopy Center reserves the right to refuse service for any reason.
