Parent to Child (P2C) Nurturing Parents Project
The Nurturing Parents project is nationally recognized as an effective tool for empowering parents by providing them with the resources and knowledge needed to be a successful parent. The project is comprised of kits that include parenting lessons centered on childhood development stages that cultivate the parent’s ability to provide a safe, supportive home to their child, leading to better cognitive development and educational outcomes. "Nurturing Parents Kits" will include: parenting books and guidelines for appropriate engagement; activities for children and parents; and art supplies or games to support parents of children in the CHIPS program. The kits are designed to meet the unique needs of each family’s learning abilities and styles; culture and language needs, and age variances to enhance the welfare of Madison youth.
Families can either refer themselves for the program or be referred by a professional.
Program funded in part by Madison West Kiwanis Youth Service Grant
