Dane County CASA

CASA Program Information

Dane County CASA

CASA provides volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates ("CASAs") to abused and neglected children who are under the protection or authority of the Dane County Courts. CASA is a unique program in that it is directly assigned by the courts to work with some of Dane County's most vulnerable children. Each year, CASA infuses thousands of hours of volunteer work by its highly trained CASA volunteers into the juvenile court system, and into the lives of the special children we serve.

The mission of Dane County CASA is to be an independent voice for abused and neglected children who are under the legal protection of the Dane County Courts System. We do this by training, supporting, and supervising community based volunteers who advocate for these children in the community and in the courts with the goal of establishing them in safe, permanent homes as soon as possible.

Achieving this mission requires that we maintain good working relationships between Dane County Juvenile Courts and Dane County Department of Human Services (DCDHS).

Dane County CASA programming conforms with the model of the National CASA Association. Visit the National CASA Association at
